Daniel Gopin

Daniel Gopin is a licensed professional counselor who works with couples, families, teens, and men navigating parenting struggles and major life transitions. His approach is direct and solution-focused: less time rehashing the same argument, more time building tools that actually change things.
Daniel earned his Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and has been practicing since 2015. He works with parents looking for practical strategies for their teens, couples who feel stuck in the same cycles, families working through divorce or blended-family transitions, and men who want a clearer sense of direction in their relationships and their lives. Clients describe him as easy to talk to, straightforward, and genuinely invested in helping them make real progress, not just talk about it.
Daniel’s Marriage Journey
“In 18 years of marriage, and in years of providing couples counseling, I’ve often thought: wouldn’t it be nice if our spouse came with a manual?
Early on, I realized how much there was to learn, not just about my wife, but about myself. I had to learn what it really means to be an emotionally attuned husband: how to recognize what she was experiencing, understand what she needed, and respond in ways that helped her feel heard.
Marriage is a learning curve. It can take years to understand your spouse, and just as long to understand your own reactions within the marriage. Every couple develops their own patterns, expectations, and unspoken rules. The more intentional you are about understanding those things, the better you can communicate and work as a team.
That’s the heart of how I work with couples: helping them uncover their own unspoken manual, using practical, solution-focused tools they can actually use at home, not just in session. Whether you’re working through a specific conflict or just want to build a stronger foundation, my goal is to give you a clearer way to understand each other.
Marriage isn’t always easy, but it’s a real opportunity to grow together and build the kind of connection that makes you glad about the life you’re creating.”
