Premarital Counseling
Perhaps you have found the person you’re ready to build a life with, and you’re wondering what can be done to ensure your love grows and endures.
Premarital counseling can help couples avoid the common marital issues that may harm a long-term relationship, including unhealthy family patterns, not allowing your partner to be influential and powerful, being uncompromising and inflexible, and toxic conflict patterns. The skills attained in this setting can improve one’s personal sense of competence, leading to greater self-esteem and happiness.
The Couples College course, When Love is Not Enough: Creating a Partnership for Life, will teach you the art of true partnership. We will help you master the skills and habits that foster a lifetime of passion, intimacy, friendship and play.
Partners who prepare before their full commitment can create a blueprint for developing a strong relationship going forward, and a process for addressing the natural conflicts that may occur along the way, while avoiding passing personal and generational trauma along to their children.
If you are unable to take When Love is Not Enough during its scheduled times, we offer the option of working with one of our therapists over 10 sessions to learn these skills for mastering partnership.
